This recap of the Prime Video series The Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 2, "Strangers and Friends," contains spoilers.
Rand is awake from a nightmare where he dreams of killing Nynaeve with a sword. His landlord (and lover), Selene, reminds him he has rent due this month, or she will make him pay interest.
That morning, he walks down the street, revealing he's in The Foregate, Cairhein.

What does Perrin see in his vision?
Perrin sees a family happily eating at a table, and he apologizes for interrupting them. However, he has a vision of a Shadowspawn coming into the room and killing everyone. Perrin emerges from his vision and sees no one there but food rotting on the table.
The group Perrin is traveling with, a group of soldiers from the Borderlands, tells him no one is there. Later in the scene, they find someone has hung and tortured a Shadowspawn. One of the soldiers thinks it may be Padan Fain.
Who is Lady Elayne Trakand?
Egwene is introduced to Lady Elayne Trakand, the Daughter/Heir of Andor and a novice of the White Tower. At first, Egwene had no idea of Elayne's status, thinking she was another worker who was getting her way. Embarrassingly, she finds out about her Andor status later on.
Elayne proves to be an ethical person of high character. Working as a novice, the Aes Sedai demands a name for a mistake a novice made as a favor to Elayne's mother. She refuses and will take the punishment herself, lashing her back every morning in the Aes Sedai's office.
Who is Verin?
Verin is an Aes Sedai of the Brown Ajah. She is a scholar knowledgeable about Portal Stones, Tel'aran'rhiod, and the Age of Legends.
What does Mat find on the other side of his prison wall?
After Liandrin gives Mat two cakes, he goes back to digging out bricks and finds another prisoner in another cell named Leane. They have an immediate connection, and he saw off enough bricks for her to sneak into his cell with a bottle of wine.
They talk, and it's lovely. As she is about to leave, Leane has a vision of Mat stabbing Rand with the dagger and killing him.
Who is the older man that Liandrin Guirale nurses?
The older man that Liandrin is nursing is her son. Nynaeve walks in and sees the older man's hand shaking. Liandrin harshly orders her to get out, but she approaches, letting her know the tremor in his hand means the pain is coming from his heart.
Liandrin slaps Nynaeve, and she runs out of the room to find Gwen. Later, in her room alone, Liandrin arrives, offering her an opportunity. They walk to the basement, where two other Aes Sedai are waiting. They allow Nynaeve to turn a wheel to open a door and face her fears.
Could this be the ter'angreal?
Why does Moiraine break up with Lan?
It's unclear, but the best guess is that Moiraine breaks up with Lan to protect him. Moiraine reveals that Rand is, in fact, alive. They started a chain reaction at the beginning of the battle, not at the end.
The Dark One's manipulation allowed the revelation that Rand was the Dragon Reborn. Now that Moiraine knows Lan can handle himself on his own, he transfers the guardianship of her warder to Alanna.
Out of love, Moiraine tells Lan they were never equals, saying he failed her when the Fond attacked, and since their bond is broken, she will go forward alone.
Who attacks Perrin and his fellow soldiers?
The Dark One arrives with an army that overtakes the town, including Perrin and Loial, but he accompanies who appears to be with the High Lady Suroth. (A former Seanchan noblewoman who "fell in disgrace and is now da'covale.")
Her soldiers are dressed in red armor, copper helmets, and masks resembling ominous skulls. She is also accompanied by young women, the Seachan, who have what look like gold pacifiers. They enslave people, notably other young women.

Who does Rand meet inside the Sanitarium?
Rand meets Logain in the Sanitarium. He injures and beats a coworker to be promoted to Logain's orderly. Before the episode ends, Rand tells Logain, "I have a feeling you and I have much more in common."
