Production on Killers of the Flower Moon wrapped all the way back in October of 2021. Thus began the notoriously long editing process that Martin Scorsese takes to complete his films in post-production. With his long trusted editor at his side, Thelma Schoonmaker, he hid away and began what it takes Kevin Smith a lunch break to do. Of course, and no offense to Mr. Smith (I’m a big fan), this is Scorsese we’re talking about so clearly he’s doing something right. But a year plus to edit?! Come on, man you’re not getting any younger! But I digress.
As per usual, long before the official release, which is October 6 in limited and October 20th wide, we finally get a trailer after what feels like a wait of just shy of an eon.
Killers of the Flower Moon tells the tale of members of the Osage tribe in the 1920s who are murdered under unusual circumstances. This prompts an investigation by the F.B.I. residing under the influence of J. Edgar Hoover.
Featuring a stellar cast, Killers of the Flower Moon stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons and Brendan Fraser among others.
KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON
Are you excited for Scorsese’s latest, and potentially final film? I hope it’s not. He is my cinematic hero. I can’t wait to see this and I am extremely jealous of those at the Cannes Film Festival who get to see it in a measly two days.
Killers of the Flower Moon premieres October 6 in limited release and wide, October 20th of this year, 2023. It then streams exclusively on Apple TV+.
