The following article examines critical questions for the new film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, which contains significant spoilers.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has spectacular action and unique George Miller visuals. However, make no mistake: the sole reason to see this next Mad Max chapter is the powerhouse performance from Anna Taylor-Joy. Yes, she is a known talent, but her role as Furiosa rockets the actress into the stratosphere of the Hollywood elite.
Furiosa is now on par with Sigourney Weaver's Ripley and Linda Hamilton's Sarah Conner.
Full of cunning and feral viciousness, Taylor-Joy's unyielding performance elevates Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga into a film with real stakes. Combining that with George Miller's enthralling filmmaking makes this Mad Max chapter an exhilarating experience from start to finish.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga Ending Explained
The script follows a young girl named Furiosa, who is part of the Green Place of Many Mothers community. However, a fearsome and ugly warlord named Dementus (Chris Hemsworth) soon abducts her. He is the big, nasty despot of the Wasteland and ready to take what's owed. His marauding bikers roam the area, wielding a big stick without a carrot.
Furiosa's mother attempts to save her and protect the anonymity of their fruitful community, which is full of lush greens, fruits, vegetables, and a rare water source. However, she is tortured and killed after Dementa questions her about the Green Place's location. Dementa takes Furiosa in as his daughter, calling her "Little Dementa."
Why Does Furiosa Join Immortan Joe?
Dementus makes a deal with Immortan Joe to take Furiosa and gain power in the Wasteland. Immortan Joe plans to raise Furiosa so that she can marry one of his sons (or himself) when she is old enough. This is after Dementus devises an ingenious plan to take over Gas Land. He infiltrates the oil-rich factory by pretending to be part of Joe's War Boys.
Now that Dementus has control, Joe needs gasoline (often called "guzzoline"), the currency in these parts. Dementus will still provide The Citadel with gasoline in exchange for food and water, Furiosa, and Dementus' medicine man, the Organic Mechanic (The Lincoln Lawyer's Angus Sampson).

How Does Praetorian Jack Die?
While we don't know precisely if Praetorian Jack died, we can safely assume he met his fate off-screen. After attempting to leave with Furiosa to find the Green Land by following the map tattooed on her left forearm, Dementus and his gang track them down. Dementus chains Praetorian Jack to the back of a motorcycle.
After running and falling over, Jack is dragged for an extended period. Dementus then releases his blood-hungry dogs, which chase Jack's body in circles. When Dementus calls a halt to the proceedings, we see the dogs run off-screen and assume they are about to make Jack their Sunday dinner.
How Does Furiosa Lose Her Arm?
While Jack was being used as a chew toy, Furiosa's (Anna Taylor-Joy) injured arm was chained to the toe of Dementus' monster truck. (Furiosa's arm was torn apart after Dementus' truck tore her left arm apart, the same one with the map of Green Place.) While Jack is dragged, the film's main villain wants her to watch.
After Dementus halts the proceedings, he walks to the back of the truck. He then sees Furiosa's bloody arm hanging. We don't know if she tore her arm off or if it was separated involuntarily, but she stole one of their motorbikes during the festivities. She rides the bike back to Joe and tells him about Dementus' plan to attack The Citadel.

How Does Furiosa Kill Dementa?
While the film ultimately makes it unclear how Dementa died, we assume Furiosa used Dementa as a base for a fruit tree. Yes, Furiosa finally planted a peach stone that bore fruit, but with the tree growing from Dementa's torso while alive in the mountains of The Citadel. When the tree bears fruit, what looks like a dark red peach, she shares it with Joe's five wives.
Does Furiosa Have a Post-Credit Scene?
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga does not have a post-credits scene. However, the film comes full circle, showing Furiosa leading Joe's five wives away from The Citadel and shows a montage of scenes from Mad Max: Fury Road.
You can watch Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga now in theaters.
